Environmental Policy Statement

Coed Y Mwstwr Golf Club has signed up to The Green Dragon Award and publishes this Environmental Policy to show how the club is targeting to become more environmentally friendly..

Coed-Y-Mwstwr Golf Club is a 140 acre, 18 hole golf course in the Coychurch area of Bridgend.  As well as the course, there is a clubhouse where food and drinks are served and events can be held.

As an organisation, Coed -Y-Mwstwr Golf Club a re aware that they have an impact on the environment, and are committed to environmental improvements and the reduction of this impact.

Coed-Y-Mwstwr Golf Club are committed to meeting all relevant statutory requirements of environmental legislation and where no standards exist, setting their own high standards.  This will be done with the assistance of Groundwork Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot and with information from industry sources.

Coed-Y-Mwstwr Golf Club have identified their environmental impacts as being the use of electricity, gas, oil, diesel, water and greens chemicals.

Coed-Y-Mwstwr Golf Club will: -

Prevent pollution by reducing energy, water and chemical use, and by using more environmentally friendly chemicals.

Work towards targets set out in the improvement plan, which will be reviewed and updated annually.

Specifically, Coed-Y-Mwstwr Golf Club aim to

Monitor energy use

Set up an inventory of hazardous materials

Segregate waste streams and set up recycling

Train staff in the Environmental Management System (EMS) and other environmental matters

Ensure that staff and club members are aware of EMS and this policy by displaying it on notice boards around the site and making this Policy available to other interested parties

Review this Policy periodically for relevance and update it if the specific need arises.
