Ladies Section 2007

The Ladies Section comprises 33 ladies, 12 are five day members and the remainder 7 day members. We have reserved tee times from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. every Thursday and 11 a.m. - 11.20 a.m. on Saturdays. We are affiliated to the Glamorgan and Monmouthshire League. Last season our team were top of Division 9 and were subsequently promoted to Division 8. The high handicappers play in friendly matches with local golf clubs in our area. The ladies look forward to these events because of the friendly nature of these competitions. The Ladies Section would welcome any new members and we will shortly be advertising (in conjunction with Golf Development Wales) "taster sessions" for any ladies interested in learning to play golf.

Although the section is small in numbers, we have achieved some notable successes since our formation. We are the current holders of the Australian Spoons, a National pairs competition. The league team gained promotion in their first year (2002) of competing in the Glamorgan Ladies League.

Individuals, pairs and teams from this small section enter a range of competitions each year and gain recognition for the Club. We also play friendly matches with 4 other clubs in the area.

During the year, we hold social events both on and off the golf course, and all ladies are provided with a warm welcome from the section. The ladies organise annual Ladies and Mixed Open competitions, in addition to club competitions, which are a mixture of fun and serious golf.
